My sewing friends, the lovely Reethi of: Weekend Crafting, Claire of: 1 Seam at a Time and Connie of: Couturesmith and I had a great time catching up today and eating a fabulous brunch at The Hot Spot (amazing and HUGE buffet!).  Afterwards, Claire and I made a quick visit to Queen St. E. and hit Fabrics by Designers (otherwise known as you know, the store downstairs just east of Augusta on the North side).  (Sorry, Reethi, but we were saving you $50)

Claire scored a great length of rayon/poly/spandex knit in a beautiful red & I bought an almost 2m piece of sandwashed silk charmeuse in a deep raspberry pink.  It was the last on the bolt – $20 cash. Score!!  It is earmarked for this top:

I hope you all can make some sewing friends like I have, it’s wonderful!

And now for blog inspirations for the week – Here are three:

1) You simply must see the beautiful couture work on the stunning Burda shift dress by Marina from: Frabjous Couture

2) Sallioeh did a wonderful MeMadeMay; her version of the Rachel Comey top inspired me to try one – she has a really fresh style!

3) Wendy Nguyen has a wonderful style blog called Wendy’s Lookbook; based in LA, she’s in the fashion industry.  Each photo looks like a magazine spread, and she has wonderfully edited youtube videos on her youtube channel as well – links are on her homepage.

Enjoy!
