Simplicity 2512 by Cynthia Rowley – View B
Here’s a skirt I just finished to wear to the PR weekend in Chicago last weekend!  I’ve had this fabric for a while, it’s a drapey rayon-cotton; I thought it would pair nicely with this pattern in a kind of safari-way.
The pattern was easy to sew, I liked that it’s bound top and bottom with bias.  I did probably make a size too large, you can probably see I’ve cinched the waist tie in a bit.   The only thing I found a bit difficult was inserting the invsible zip through the interfaced waistband layers.  The waistband sandwiches the waist seam neatly between the two layers, which is a nice touch.
Here are a couple of other views:

I may just keep this on hand for view C which has a nice drape.  Oh, it’s super short too, I lengthened it about 4″, to hit me knee length (for those who haven’t met me I’m about 6′ tall)
Like the killer shoes?  Payless from couple of years ago.  They are a subtle dark grey/black python embossed faux leather with a cone shaped heel.  Probably the highest I have worn until I recently got these babies:
Anyway, I do want to post about the Chicago PR weekend, but I need to get my pics in order.  I forgot my camera — duh — but snapped a couple of photos on my blackberry.   I also want to take some pics of my purchases and pattern acquisitions (OK, I only actually bought 2!!) ; so stay tuned!!
